From Burden to Desire

Have you ever received a word from God and thought it was too big for you to handle?
That was me — and honestly, sometimes, it still is. Favor Abundant was born after a women’s conference, right in my prayer closet. My challenge has never been hearing the Spirit; it’s been staying consistent and obedient.
After that conference, I felt God guiding me toward entrepreneurship, but I hesitated. In prayer and fasting, I told God, “If you want me to start this business, I need a name and confirmation that I’m on the right path.” He gave me both. With the name and vision He entrusted to me, I stepped out and started the business.
Here’s the truth: I can be stubborn. I like control. I calculate every move and rely on evidence before taking risks. But doesn’t that sound a lot like a lack of faith?
In that season, the Lord showed me how I was limiting myself — and even trying to place those same limits on Him. I wrestled with my calling, taking my fears back to Him again and again. And every time, He reminded me: He had already handled my doubts and already prepared my future.
The breakthrough came when I heard Him say: "I do not place limitations on you. Why do you place them on yourself? I am greater.”
That shook me to my core. It fueled me to move, and it shifted everything. I realized it wasn’t about my control, my skills, or even my finances. It was about God’s glory and building His Kingdom.
Obedience no longer felt like a burden — it became a longing. Consistency wasn’t forced — it flowed out of desire to stay aligned with Him.
Here’s the point:
Don’t let your own plans or self-image interfere with what God has already called you to do.
When God says move — even if you don’t feel qualified or ready — do it anyway.
Surrender daily. Trust Him in every season. He equips you with everything you need. He is the builder of both skill and wisdom.
As Psalm 32:8 (KJV) says: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go. I will guide thee with mine eye.”
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story. Share your testimony at favor.abundantinc@gmail.com — let’s encourage each other in obedience and faith.
